Tailboard / Vehicles
A page for each van we will cover, with the fitment facts that decide what actually bolts on. Listed by generation, because that is the level at which the answer changes.

Four-wheel-drive and overlanding fitment — Defender, Hilux, Ranger and D-Max — follows with that range.
Why generation, not model
A Ford Transit Custom registered in 2023 and one registered in 2024 take different roof fitting kits. A Mercedes Vito of one generation has a tailgate as standard and of the next has barn doors. A VW California's roof will hold half what its own roof bars are rated to carry.
None of that is visible in a model name, and all of it decides whether the part you ordered fits the van on your drive. So we list by generation, and where we cannot source a fact, we say so instead of guessing.
Not yet listed
The Transporter sold in the UK since April 2025 is a rebadged second-generation Ford Transit Custom on the Ford Pro platform, built by Ford Otosan. Nothing from the T5 to T6.1 era carries over. We will list it when an accessory brand publishes fitment for the VW-badged version.
The current California is built on the T7 Multivan and the MQB platform — a different vehicle from both the T6.1 California and the 2025 Transporter. We found no published roof-load figure for its pop-top, and we are not carrying the older 50 kg figure across to it.
